Small Embroidery Projects are really easy to do and can be done by anyone. No experience required! It is a great hobby to have, very relaxing and stress relieving!

Being a beginner, the projects I am trying are very simple. Nothing fancy here!   I am just sharing the things that I love to do,  Hoping to inspire you to start a new hobby that you will love! I have a post on 10 fun hobbies to try, Embroidery is one of them. Do check it out.

You can embroider anything like t-shirts, jackets, pencil cases, pillowcases, towels, etc. Moreover, you can embroider on any fabric and hang it up on your wall as a decor piece. The design and colors are your choices, hence the possibilities are endless!

There is just something about handmade projects that makes them so much more special than something mass-produced or done by a machine. So go ahead and embroider something in your home that could use a little uplift and I guarantee, you will be proud of your work and want to do more!

A great starting project to practice all the stitches is an embroidery sampler. You can find some fantastic options here.

HOW DO YOU DO THESE  SMALL EMBROIDERY PROJECTS?

Small embroidery projects

All it takes is deciding on your design and colors.

Next, you trace/draw the design on your base. ( I used a pen to draw my design on the T-shirt, for the pencil case I used a pencil.)

Thread the needle with the color of choice. ( you can choose to use all 6 threads, or just 2,3 or 4, for most of the projects I use 3)

Tie a knot on the opposite side of the thread so it does not come through. And begin stitching!!

The stitches you use can be all the same or they can be different. For a list of all common stitches and how to do them, you can visit the spruce crafts website. (In most of my projects I used running stitch, satin stitch & lazy daisy stitch)

If you like to cover up the back of your project, all you need to do is cut a piece of cloth the same size and stitch it at the back using a whip stitch or a running stitch.
