Mini Crochet Pumpkins

Mini Crochet pumpkins

These Mini Crochet Pumpkins are so cute and easy to make! I couldn’t resist another pumpkin post! I know I just posted easy thumbtack pumpkins, you can check it out here if you haven’t seen them. But these mini pumpkins just scream fall and are the cutest things ever!

I have been seeing so many different types of crochet pumpkins all over Pinterest. I wondered if I could make a few for my home. So I started looking for easy patterns., when I came across this pattern I knew I had to try it! I love all things Mini!! It’s a very easy pattern using mostly single crochets, so it’s done amigurumi style.

What are the supplies needed for these Mini Crochet Pumpkins?

Supplies needed for Mini crochet pumpkins

Yarn – I used yarn I bought at Joann’s, it was on clearance and I ended up getting each ball of yarn for just 99cents!! So shop around your art and craft stores, I’m sure you will get some good deals!

The name of the yarn is KC Knit and Crochet, ELEMENT (Medium 4) I really loved these colors.

Crochet hook – size 4.25mm (G/6) (that is what I used)

Scissors

Fiberfill – for stuffing the pumpkins ( or you can use cut up pieces of felt or leftover yarn, etc)

Yarn Needle

Stitch markers ( you need these as you can keep a count of the rows)

Here are some of my finds for this project on Amazon:

How do you make these Mini Crochet Pumpkins?

Mini crochet pumpkins

The pattern I followed is by Heather Corinne. She has a written pattern as well as a helpful video. So head on over to her page to get the free pattern to make these cute pumpkins heather-corrine.com.

Thank you to Heather for sharing this lovely pattern!

I made 1 pumpkin out of each color of yarn that I bought. For the stems, I just used some green cotton yarn that I had leftover from another project.

I made 4 pumpkins in about 2 hours, so they are pretty quick to make.

Beginner Velvet Crochet Scarf

Beginner Velvet Crochet Scarf

This Beginner Velvet Crochet Scarf is the easiest and softest scarf you will ever make!

The velvet yarn used for this is so soft and the scarf feels so nice and cozy. If you are new to crochet this is the best project to try as it has just one stitch repeated for about 70 rows.

I say beginner because it really is super easy to make! With all the lovely colors you get, you can easily make a whole bunch of these for every day of the week!

Even if you do not know how to crochet and would like to learn, it is very easy. I urge you to take that step and make crochet a hobby as it really is a great hobby to have! I have mentioned my other beginner crochet posts down below if you would like to learn.

Beginner Velvet Crochet Scarf

Beginner Velvet Crochet Scarf

Velvet yarn is not the easiest yarn to work with as it is quite slippery. I am being really honest here, but this project has only one stitch so it goes pretty fast. You can finish this scarf from start to finish maybe in an hour or two.

What is the Pattern for this Beginner Velvet Crochet Scarf?

Beginner Velvet Crochet Scarf

This is the pattern I followed from the website crochetandcraftwithme.com:Super easy, Super soft Velvet Scarf

It’s extremely easy, just repeating double crochet for all the rows. For the exact instructions please visit the above-mentioned website. You can make it shorter or longer if you like.

This length is perfect for an adult. It can be good for kids too but it will go twice around. It is very cozy and warm! Perfect for the upcoming cold weather! My kids loved these scarves and wore them all winter whenever we went out!

Organizing with Crochet Baskets!

Crochet baskets for organizing

Organizing with Crochet Baskets is my new go-to for organizing things around my home!

These crochet baskets are great for organizing little stuff(or big stuff!)around your home too! They look good and can be made in any size and color you want. Crochet baskets are a great alternative to plastic bins and organizers that are cheap and not very pleasing to look at.

They are relatively easy to make as these patterns use mostly basic stitches like single crochet, double crochet, and half double crochet. So, these are easy projects even for beginners. If you would like to learn how to crochet, check out these posts – Learn How to Crochet and Learn the Basic Crochet Stitches.

This is Part 2 of my organizing post! If you missed my first one, check out my post DIY Paper boxes and felt baskets for organizing. I did mention in that post that I was working on my crochet baskets for organizing. Finally, here it is!

Crochet baskets

Crochet baskets for organising

I would have loved to include many more baskets but I just did not have the time. So here are the ones that I did manage to make.

I will include the links to some great patterns that I will be trying in the future, so you can check them out if you are interested!

Supplies needed for making these simple crochet baskets:

Crochet hooks – The hooks used for these patterns are mostly 5mm and bigger.

Yarn – For these crochet baskets thick sturdy yarn is best.

Scissors

Yarn needle to finish your baskets

(Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links, which means if you buy any of these recommended products, I will receive a small commission from Amazon at no extra cost to you. Please know that I only recommend products that I love and know to be of great quality. Thank you for your support!)

Crochet Baskets for organizing:

Stacking baskets:

These stacking baskets are very easy to make, I made the small and medium-size in less than 2 hours! You can find the pattern here at Mooglyblog.com.

The yarn I used needed to be thicker but I just used what I had. If you need your basket to be sturdier just use a thicker yarn that will hold up well.

Stacking crochet baskets

Crochet mason jar cozy:

I know this is technically not a basket! But I just thought it was a great idea to use old mason jars and cans. This is such a great way to dress them up, and use them for organizing! The pattern can be found here at gratefulprayerthankfulheart.com.

I used cotton yarn for this one, I changed the yarn in between to give it a white stripe. My suggestion for this pattern is to use a stitch marker. I didn’t use one and kind of lost count of the rows, so lesson learned!

Crochet mason jar cozy

Crochet Basket Pattern:

This crochet basket pattern comes in 3 sizes.  I tried the smallest one, it was easy to do but I did find the last row or two a bit challenging. My stripe on top was not very neat as you can see from the picture. But, I wanted to include it as they are really cute for organizing little things! The pattern is from desertblossomcrafts.com.

Crochet Mini basket

Brown Crochet basket:

This pattern is from letscrochet.org, and you can find the pattern here. I stopped in the middle and made a bowl. But you can follow the instructions and make that cute basket.

Crochet basket

Flat Crochet basket:

This pattern is a collection of mini nesting baskets from lifeandyarn.com. I made them flat by just doing one row after the base is done, So after the row of single crochet in the back loop only(BLO), I did one more row of single crochets, slip stitched around, and finished off.

If you are new to crochet and would like to learn, do check out my earlier posts, Learn How to CrochetLearn the Basic Crochet StitchesEasy Crochet Chain Earrings. You can definitely learn crochet even if you have no clue about it! I promise that you will love it! As I have said earlier it is a stress-buster and a great hobby to have.

If you already know how to crochet, I am sure you will have all the essentials to start these projects!

You do not require much, just crochet hooks, yarn, scissors, and a yarn needle. I will share my Amazon picks below. All these supplies are available in any craft store as well.

(Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links, which means if you buy any of these recommended products, I will receive a small commission from Amazon at no extra cost to you. Please know that I only recommend products that I love and know to be of great quality. Thank you for your support.)

CROCHET HOOKS

The size of the crochet hook depends on the yarn or thread you are using, so it is always good to have a good set of crochet hooks.

YARN

There are so many types of yarn you get for different projects. For most of these patterns, you can use cotton yarn, acrylic yarn, Size 10 thread, or even embroidery thread.

SCISSORS

Having one pair of scissors only for crochet is a good idea.

YARN NEEDLE

For finishing projects, using a yarn needle is much easier than using the crochet hook itself.

HOT GLUE GUN

Used for gluing the flowers, butterflies, beads, etc onto the clips.

Here is my list of tried and tested Easy Crochet Hair Accessories:

HAIR CLIPS

Hair Accessories clips

Hair accessories bow clips

Mini Bow Hair Clips

These bows are so cute and easy to make. You only use a little yarn and it takes less than 15 minutes. After you make the bow, just hot glue it onto the hair clip. I found my hair clips at a Japanese shop called Daiso. You can find the pattern from Daisy Cottage Designs here.

Crochet Hair Accessories bows

Big Bow Hair Clips

The big bow pattern is from everythingetsy.com. Below are the clips I used, they are called alligator clips or duck bill clips.

Flower Hair Clips

Crochet flower hair clips

Cute flowers are even simpler to make. You can make them big or small by simply changing the yarn or thread you are using.  This pattern is so easy it is practically 1 round, and there is a diagram for the pattern, it can be found here.

For the mini bow clips and flower clips,  You can get the clips at Dollar Tree, Daiso, or Walmart if you have one near you.

Butterfly Hairclips

Crochet butterfly hairclips

These butterflies are adorable, and I am sure any little girl in your life would love these! The pattern is from Bella Coco and she has a great video tutorial that you can find here.

HEADBANDS

Hair Accessories hairbands

Hair accessories hair bands

These headbands take a little longer to make but they are worth it! The only challenge I faced here, is deciding what the length should be. I made 3 types. The one With the elastic made it more stretchy, the one without elastic has to be made the right size as it does not stretch much. The 3rd one is good because It has to be tied at the bottom. It is the easiest pattern, 3 chains tied together. I feel the only thing with this one is it might be too loose if not tied properly. Here are all the 3 patterns:

  1. Headband with elastic hair-tie
  2. Crochet Flower Headband
  3. 3 strand crochet headband

SCRUNCHIES

Hair Accessories scrunchies

I shared these scrunchies in a previous post of 5 Useful Crochet Projects. They are so easy and you can make a whole bunch in an hour! This is the pattern I used. I made them in velvet, acrylic yarn, and cotton. I used black hair ties that I bought in Walmart.

So here they are, all these beautiful crochet hair accessories that you can make for yourself or give as gifts! Hope you enjoyed this collection of simple and quick projects.

Independence Day Crochet Coasters

Red white and blue coasters

Let these Independence Day Crochet Coasters be the stars at your next 4th of July party! I decided to do a post with the colors of the American Flag as it is going to be the 4th of July this weekend over here in America.  For those of you who don’t know it is America’s Independence Day Celebration.

Independence Day is usually a time when families get together on the long weekend, have barbecues and outdoor fun!

So while you are entertaining, why not entertain in style using these coasters. They are always useful, indoor or outdoor.

Red, white and blue crochet coasters

All these 3 coasters are free patterns and are very easy to make. You can make all 3 sets in a day if you have about 5 hours to spare!

They do work up very fast. It is preferable to make them in cotton yarn, as they are washable and can be used again and again.

You get beautiful colors, so you don’t have to restrict yourself to just one color, you can make sets in different colors and use them for different occasions.

What supplies do you need for these Independence Day Coasters?

Cotton yarn – Lily Sugar n Cream cotton yarn or Knit Picks Dishie Cotton Yarn

Crochet hook – The size of hook that you use will be mentioned in the pattern or on the yarn label.

Yarn needle

How do you make these Independence Day Coasters?

Blue Mandala Coaster

This pattern is by Ling at Hooked on Patterns. The crochet stitches used are just chains and double crochets. The pattern is written changing colors for every round, but I just stuck to one color.

Blue mandala crochet coaster

White Hexagon Coaster

This hexagon coaster pattern is by Clare at Truly Crochet.  Again this pattern uses only chains and double crochet’s. It is really simple and the tassels make it look so cute! I added 4 rows instead of 3.

White hexagon coaster

White hexagon coasters

Red Flat Circle Coaster

This is a very simple pattern as well, it is from Catherine at Lullaby Lodge. I made the first pattern using just chains and double crochets. This is a pattern showing us how to make a flat circle. So you can make it big or small. Make it bigger and it can be used as a trivet. Use cotton yarn as it tolerates high heat and can be washed. The yarn I used is acrylic as that is what I had. I am using mine underneath a vase.

Hope you enjoyed reading about these red, white, and blue Coasters. Do try them out as they are very easy to make.

10 Easy Crochet Earrings (All Free Patterns!)

10 Easy Crochet Earrings

These 10 Easy Crochet Earrings are beautiful and can complement any outfit. I love making earrings as they are simple and quick to make. You do not need a lot of thread, so they are a great scrap yarn/thread project! You can make all 10 pairs in probably an hour!

The fun part about making your own earrings is that you can customize them to the outfits you already have. The availability of different colors of threads makes it possible to have beautiful handmade earrings in any color imaginable!

All these 10 pairs of earrings are from free patterns that I will share with all of you. A big thank you to all the designers for sharing their talent with the world for free!

These earrings mostly use magic circles, chains, single crochet, double crochet, treble, and picot., most of them start with a magic circle. All of them have been tried and tested by me, so I am recommending the ones that I found easiest to do.

Magic Circle:

I actually did not know what a magic circle was until recently! That is a true story! Lol

I always started my projects with a series of chains joined with a slip stitch.

When I saw a magic circle in so many patterns, I decided it was time to learn a magic circle! So after a lot of tutorials and practice, I finally managed to figure it out.

Any pattern started with a magic circle can be tightened to the point where the center of the circle kind of disappears, so your work looks much neater.

I am sharing the tutorial that helped me the most. You can check it out here.

What are the supplies you need for making these 10 Easy Crochet Earrings?

Supplies for Crochet Earrings

Crochet thread size 10 or Embroidery thread, different colors

Crochet hook – size 1.5mm or 1.65mm

Scissors

Earring hooks

Jump rings (5 mm jump rings)

Pliers (to open and close the jump rings)

(The above links are affiliate links, if you choose to buy any product using these links, I will receive a small commission from Amazon at no extra cost to you. Please know that I only recommend products that I love and know to be of great quality. Thank you for your support)

If you would like to try Amazon for free for 30 days, sign up here!

How do you make these earrings?

Once you have finished your crochet earring, you can use a jump ring to join the little crochet motif to the earring hook. Using pliers, open the jump ring, and attach it to the crochet motif. Put the earring hook also onto the jump ring and close it up. Make sure that it is closed. Your earring is ready! Each earring is different, and each is finished in its own way, so please visit the websites mentioned below to get the exact pattern. Thank you!

Let’s get to these 10 Easy Crochet Earrings and their free patterns!

This pattern is actually for a crochet necklace, but I followed this pattern to make 2 different color buttons and joined them together with jump rings to make earrings. The pattern is for a beautiful necklace using colorful Crochet buttons The pattern for the little crochet buttons is from the blog Marrose, Colorful Crochet Crafts and can be found here.  You can mix and match colors, just make one color, make only one button. You can pretty much customize your own earrings!

Granny Square Earring:

This granny square earring is cute and very easy to do.

I will try to explain how I made these., I have not written out a pattern before but will try my best to explain. If you have any questions, please leave me a comment down below, I will get back to you.

Start with 4 chains, and join with a slip stitch. That’s your beginning circle.

2nd round – start with 3 chains (counts as the first DC), 2 more DC, 3 chains, 3 DC into the chain circle of 1st round. Repeat 2 more times and join with a slip stitch to the top of the 3rd chain from the beginning. Your 2nd round is finished.

3rd round – Start with 3 chains ( counts as a DC), *3 DC into the 3 chain space of the 2nd round, 2 chains, and 3 DC into the same space. ( this is your first corner), one chain and repeat from* to the last chain space. For the last chain space, make 3 DC, 2 chains, then 2 DC, and finish with a slip stitch to the top of the 3rd chain that you started with. Fasten off. One earring is ready!  Make another one and you have a pair of Beautiful Granny Square Earrings!

This next pattern can be found here at livingthecraftlife.com. It is a basic round earring pattern. I just did it with 2 colors.

Heart Earrings:

This can be made following a diagram found on this website, it is an amigurumi pattern of a bear with a heart on it. I followed the heart pattern and made 2 earrings using Size 10 thread.

Heart earrings

Birthday Earrings:

These earrings can be found here.  The only change that I made was for the last row, I did not make any DCs into the previous row, I just made chains and a picot, then chains again, and joined it at the end with a slip stitch.

Birthday crochet earrings

Double Circle Earrings:

This last one is kind of made up by me, it is a very simple, double crochet in rounds. Make one big circle and one small. Put a jump ring through both circles so that they are joined together. Make the circles in different colors or the same color.

For the small circle: Start with a magic circle, 3 chains to start(counts as 1st dc), 23 DC into the magic circle. Finish off with a slip stitch to the top of the 3rd chain. (24 DC)

For the big circle: Make the small circle, but continue for the 2nd round. For the second round, alternate 1 DC, then 2 DC into each DC of the below round. (32 DC)

5 Useful Crochet Projects

These 5 Useful Crochet Projects are easy to do and make great handmade gifts for your family and friends!

Crochet is one of those hobbies with which you can make a lot of useful things. You can make them in whichever color you want to match your decor or your style.

There are so many free patterns available, all you have to do is search on google, or if you are a visual person like me search on Pinterest.

I have saved so many patterns that I wonder if I will ever be able to try all of them!

However, I am sharing the patterns that I have tried and liked. Thank you to these wonderful designers who have shared these patterns for free! Please do visit their websites to get the patterns. I will provide the links below.

Here are the 5 Useful Crochet Projects that I have tried and loved:

Crochet Potholder

Crochet Potholder

This potholder is really thick and made of cotton yarn. Cotton yarn is recommended for making potholders. This pattern is worked in the round with just single crochet! So it is easy to do and can be made in a few hours if you have the time. It actually took a few days as I worked on it maybe around an hour every day for about 3 to 4 days. I used almost one whole skein of cotton yarn. I bought my yarn at Walmart.

Crochet Potholder

You can find the pattern here: Super Easy Crochet Potholder

Crochet Coasters/Mug Rugs

Mug Rugs/Coasters

I absolutely love the way these turned out! You can make these really fast, I think I made 2 a day probably just working on them for about an hour or 2. These were easy to make, and you just add tassels to make them look really cute.

Make sets of these to give as gifts, I’m sure your family and friends will love this useful beautiful gift.

Crochet Coasters/Mug Rugs

The pattern is by Amanda at Love & Stitch.com and can be found here. The Darcie mug rug

Key Ring Wrist Lanyard

Key Ring Holder

Have you ever had to go out somewhere with just your keys and not have anywhere to put them? If you didn’t have any pockets or if you didn’t want to carry your handbag. I’ve been in this situation many times when taking my kids to the park. I always ended up carrying my keys in my hand. These lanyards work up very fast and can solve this problem.  So now I just put my keys on this lanyard and slide it on my wrist. This makes a really useful gift. You can make several of these in a day. It took less than 30 minutes to make one.

Key Ring Lanyard

This pattern is from Lisa at Stitch in Progress, it can be found here.

Cotton Bath Scrubbies

Bath Scrubbies

These bath scrubbers are so quick to do, you can make one in 10 minutes. Make them in different colors.

I found that these do not lather very well, so I tried one with acrylic yarn, which worked a little better. Let me know if you find the perfect yarn to make these.

I am all for reducing my plastic waste, so I started using these instead of plastic loofahs which are really bad for the environment.

Crochet Bath Scrubbies

This pattern is by Marie at Makes and Takes, You can find the pattern here Crochet Bath Scrubbies

UPDATE: After a lot of trials and errors, I have finally found the bath scrubber that works well! So I have an entire post on them, Bath Scrubbers  Do check it out.

Scrunchies

Velvet Scrunchies

Scrunchies have become very popular nowadays. These velvet scrunchies as so soft and can be made in less than half an hour. These make great gifts too. You can make them in several colors, not just velvet but lots of other yarns too.

Velvet Scrunchies

This pattern is by Marianne at Yarnworx Studio. You can find her pattern here Velvety Scrunchies

UPDATE: These velvet scrunchies are now available in my Etsy shop!

Hope you enjoyed reading about these projects and will try some of them out.

Easy Crochet Chain Earrings

How do you make these Crochet Chain Earrings?

  1. I used 3 colors together. Hold the 3 colors together in your hand. Make a slip knot to start. ( for the embroidery thread I used 2 colors together)
  2. Insert your crochet hook into the slip knot and start making chains.
  3. Make 18 chains. ( For shorter loops make 12 chains)
  4. Close into a loop using a slip stitch. Chain one. Pull thread and cut. Tug on the thread to tighten.
  5. Make a knot with the beginning threads and the ending threads
  6. Attach an earring hook to the thread and tie twice, cut the excess thread. To make it secure I would recommend adding a drop of glue.
  7. Your earring is ready.
  8. Make another one and you have your first pair of earrings!

If you want to add beads, you can do so before adding the earring hook.

You could use 2 or 3 colors together. Mix and match the colors, or use shades of colors. The possibilities are endless!

I personally liked the earrings with the embroidery thread as the thread is thicker and the colors are more vibrant.

You can make these earrings and give them as gifts to family and friends. Or just make yourself your own designer collection!!

Enjoy making these easy earrings using just chains!
