How do you make these Crochet Car Coasters?

Crochet car coasters

I followed this pattern from the blog lifeawayfromtheofficechair.com

I found that it was too small so I added one more row.

For the last row, chain one, single crochet in next stitch, chain one, single crochet in next stitch. Do this all around and finish with a slip stitch into the first chain. Finish off.

Cut the yarn and use the yarn needle to weave in the ends of the yarn.

That’s it your coaster is ready! Now make one more and you can use them in your car!

crochet cup holder

Notes:

I suggest you measure your car cup holder size before starting so that you can adjust the coaster accordingly.

Nearly every car cup holder is slightly different.

Weave the ends in well so that they do not come out when you wash the cup holders.

I recommend hand washing and laying flat to dry.

Crochet Christmas Star Coasters

Crochet Christmas Holiday Coasters

Crochet Christmas star coasters are very simple to make. Use them on your tabletops, desks, side tables, etc. they are very versatile and can be used for cups, small pots, candles, or little trinkets.

Crochet Christmas Star Coasters

I love changing out my coasters for different seasons! It’s fun to keep changing out your decor every few months, it does make a difference. Coasters are the one thing that are so easy to make and can be customized to any color, shape, and style.

They are made with 100% cotton yarn and can be washed. They make great gifts too!

A set of 4 coasters can be made in under an hour. You can get about 10 coasters from one skein of yarn. Spray them with starch to stiffen them but it’s not necessary.

How do you make these Crochet Christmas Star Coasters?

Crochet Christmas Star Coasters

I followed a diagram pattern to make these coasters. You can find it here on Pinterest.

Just make the coaster as shown. Next, using the yarn needle, weave the ends of the yarn at the back of the coaster and cut off the excess.

That’s it your coaster is ready!

Notes:

You could use a 4.5mm crochet hook as well.

To weave in the ends, with a yarn needle weave the thread in opposite directions to secure.

I used stiffen quick to stiffen the coasters, but as I mentioned before it is not necessary.

If you need to wash the coasters, I recommend hand washing them and laying them flat to dry. Reshape them and spray some starch if needed.

I used neutral colors so they can be used all year long, but you could use red, green, white to give them the Christmas look!

Hope you will try these out and if you do, please share on Instagram with me @lovetostayhomeblog, I would be happy to see your creations!

If you would like to buy these coasters, they are available in my shop, you can find them here.

Easy Macrame Coasters

Easy Macrame Coasters

These easy Macrame coasters will be a beautiful addition to your home, no matter what style your home is decorated in. They are simple yet stylish!

They can be used for many different things not just your tea or coffee cups! Use them for keeping your candles, vases, plants, etc.

You can customize the size just by using longer cords. So the size is up to you and what you need it for.

They are really easy to do as the entire piece is just square knots. Even though it is simple, it does take a while to do. It took me about an hour or so to make one. But the end result is so worth it! Don’t you think? 😊

Easy Macrame Coasters

You can make this even if you are a beginner. If you do not know Macrame, it is a very easy craft/hobby to learn.  If you are interested in picking up a new hobby, do read this post – 10 Fun Hobbies to do at Home

Here are my YouTube recommendations if you want to learn the basics of Macrame:

WHAT SUPPLIES DO YOU NEED TO MAKE THESE EASY MACRAME COASTERS?

Easy Macrame Coasters supplies

3mm or 4mm cotton cord – I used 3 mm as that is what I had. (As I mentioned in my macrame keychains post, the cord is from Ganxxet.com, they have very high quality recycled cotton cord)

Scissors

Brush

(My scissors and brush are from missknottiemacrame)

That’s it!!

Here are my Amazon picks for this Project:

HOW DO YOU MAKE THESE EASY MACRAME COASTERS?

Easy Macrame Coasters

I followed this step by step tutorial from here:isabellastrambio.com

Please visit her website to get a step-by-step tutorial for this Macrame Coaster.

The things that I did differently were:

I used 3 mm cotton cords not string.

In her coaster, she did 11 rows, but in mine, I made 13 rows of square knots.

As I said earlier, you can customize the size of the coaster to your needs.

Easy Macrame Coasters

Notes:

You can leave the fringes short or long. I cut the cords first and then brush them out, and then trim them again.

Spray some water on the ends of the cords, and that makes it easier to cut your fringes.

Use a good pet brush or macrame brush for your projects.

I used packaging tape instead of painter’s tape on both ends of the holding cord.

Independence Day Crochet Coasters

Red white and blue coasters

Let these Independence Day Crochet Coasters be the stars at your next 4th of July party! I decided to do a post with the colors of the American Flag as it is going to be the 4th of July this weekend over here in America.  For those of you who don’t know it is America’s Independence Day Celebration.

Independence Day is usually a time when families get together on the long weekend, have barbecues and outdoor fun!

So while you are entertaining, why not entertain in style using these coasters. They are always useful, indoor or outdoor.

Red, white and blue crochet coasters

All these 3 coasters are free patterns and are very easy to make. You can actually make all 3 sets in a day if you have about 5 hours to spare!

They really do work up very fast. It is preferable to make them in cotton yarn, as they are washable and can be used again and again.

You get beautiful colors, so you don’t have to restrict yourself to just one color, you can make sets in different colors and use them for different occasions.

What supplies do you need for these Independence Day Coasters?

Cotton yarn – Lily Sugar n Cream cotton yarn or Knit Picks Dishie Cotton Yarn

Crochet hook – The size of hook that you use will be mentioned in the pattern or on the yarn label.

Aluminum Crochet Hooks

Boye Crochet Hooks

Embroidery scissors

Yarn needle

How do you make these Independence Day Coasters?

Blue Mandala Coaster

This pattern is by Ling at Hooked on Patterns. The crochet stitches used are just chains and double crochets. The pattern is written changing colors for ev ery round, but I just stuck to one color.

White Hexagon Coaster

This hexagon coaster pattern is by Clare at Truly Crochet.  Again this pattern uses only chains and double crochet’s. It is really simple and the tassels make it look so cute! I added 4 rows instead of 3.

White hexagon coaster

Red Flat Circle Coaster

This is a very simple pattern as well, it is from Catherine at Lullaby Lodge. I made the first pattern using just chains and double crochets. This is a pattern showing us how to make a flat circle. So you can actually make it big or small. Make it bigger and it can be used as a trivet. Use cotton yarn as it tolerates high heat and can be washed. The yarn I used is acrylic as that is what I had. I am actually using mine underneath a vase.
